Abandoned in a shadeless carpark, I tried to grab a few winks, but wouldn't she keep on emerging from the collection point to loom above the window, waking me up, then run back in the building. All for me she says - (guilty I think). It's your bed, she says, carpet needs cleaning due to your feet. Nevermind, on the up side, we walked through a splendid wood on the way home - something to do with a nearby prison I think - warm sunshine through the trees, but she was looking around all the time for "escaped psychos" and I must say, I think we might have stayed longer if not for this odd paranoia. Still there was enough mud to keep my feet cool, although a lot rubbed off in the car before I could get it home. grrrwoof, back to the humdrum, eat, sleep, poo, eat sleep, poo, eat, slee...

The tin opening human put my towel out on my sofa when we got back from the beach and after I’d carried an impressive string of drool all the way across the room to my couch. I put the towel to one side, preferring to feel the soft velvety fabric under my gritty paws. Had a good walk this morning, Snoopy was on form. Nelson made all the running on retrieving plastic bottles from the water – mad, I just barked encouragement from the shore. I may have webbed feet designed for swimming, but I shall be choosing my first swim carefully. It would be nice to combine it with a muddier environment and perhaps an occasion when the short human has some newer lighter coloured fabrics on. I gather from the argos catalogue that she’s purchasing a carpet washing machine, so why not hold out for a clean carpet, make it be like footprints in new snow.

 Off to sleep now…
